My Journey

Growing up I always played competitive sports; with soccer being the main sport I competed in and was always the main focus in my life. Right when I was getting ready to play university level, I ended up with an MCL injury that took me out of the sport for a year. With such a big lifestyle change of not training the same way I had been for years, my body and mind did not adapt well. My nutrition was not the best growing up, but I never realized it because I was training at such high volumes and had the metabolism of most athletic young adults. On top of not exercising in the same capacity, I also had my first few years of university where alcohol and a lack of sleep come into play. This took quite a big toll on both my physical and mental health.
The gym has honestly been so therapeutic for me; it has increased my self esteem so much every time I show up for myself. The endorphins that are released during exercise reduce stress and have improved my sleep health drastically. Overall as time goes on I feel more and more of my best self and full of life again.
I tell everyone I work with, when you put the hard work in the physical changes will follow. Focus on being one percent better every day!
